OK…here’s a new painting. I haven’t used these colors in my “calmer” Consciousness style much. Red and black are usually associated with my Emotion Series. I like the way this painting conveys something intense going on beneath the surface.

I didn’t have a name for it when I started but then “Smoldering” just popped into my mind. Then I realized, that’s exactly how I’ve been feeling, as though my ambition, my emotions, my sexuality have all been smoldering right below the surface.

When you awaken to the spiritual or evolutionary impulse, what begins to emerge is the dawning recognition of the fact that each one of us, at our highest level, is what I call the authentic Self, which is actually the same energy and intelligence that originally inspired the entire creative process. You begin to intuit and feel directly connected to the very impulse that initiated the whole event billions of years ago and is driving it right now.
