Consciousness #art #spirituality

I look up and I see the sky.
It becomes part of me.

My feelings like clouds
against the clear blue vastness,
scudding across the backdrop of
infinite consciousness.

I look out and I see the ocean.
It becomes part of me.

My memories like islands
in a sea of universal mind.

She’s Come Undone #art #culture #sandiego

Here’s a new painting from my Energy Series.

I struggle to market these works…they are so different from my other series, Consciousness. It’s like I’m a bi-polar artist. But when someone is drawn to an energy painting, and better yet purchases it (so I can keep going!) it’s a profound and intimate experience.

Recently I’ve been putting together a small catalog of these works and I wrote this short poem to express the process of creation of these emotion based “energy” paintings. I’d like to know your thoughts.

ALCHEMY
joy, sorrow, awe, anger, longing

I become emotion
it pours through my body
onto canvas

I transform.
I evolve.

to Love

The canvas remains.
A static image of energy

of Life

For the Self Reliant Valentine

Valentine’s day…the holiday of hearts and love. I have one here for you. Maybe for you or the one you love. A painting about independence, resilience and self love in the face of disappointment and the challenges life throws at us, teaching us to love ourselves above others so we can truly love others and have relationships that go beyond an exchange of need. How do we ever find true and unconditional love unless we learn to give it to ourselves? The poem below goes with this painting. Interested in purchase? Contact Jill

I am the sea I’ve been seeking,
An ocean of love so pure.
A body of water to swim in
Endlessly without reaching shore.

I thought it was you and you and you,
But then you were there no more.
I kept thinking I’d find the one
If I knocked on a million doors.

Now I realize it’s just me.
As it has been all along.
A million melodies in the world
Only I can sing my song.

I can swim forever
Swim forever without end.
In the body of water that is me,
I am my own best friend.

Other people will float in my ocean,
Islands of pain and delight.
I am the vastness they reside in
An ocean of clear white light.

Packaging #art #poetry

How do you capture
and bottle
Divine Inspiration
merging with
free form
un-tempered talent?

How do you
package it
For sale
without killing it
So the host
can survive?
(pay the rent
buy groceries
afford paint)
To keep working
and be a vessel
for divine love
Inspiration
and energy?

How do you do that?
(I’m finding out)

Another brilliant
Blue day
With You
Cool water
Shimmering turquoise
and black
Gulls trying to steal
Babies throwing sand
My cheek
on your warm
flat stomach
Heart beating
Emanating waves
Of Love for you
Rippling out
Merging
with the sunlight
On the water
Peace
at last.

Change is upon me
The opening
of a closed heart
Blue green
(and) bursting

Restoring
my capacity
to love

Change is upon me
The opening
of a closed heart
Blue green
(and) bursting

Deepening
my understanding
of love

Forgiveness – Art & Poetry

Jill Joy - Forgiveness - oil on canvas - 60x72 -2013

Jill Joy – Forgiveness – oil on canvas – 60×72″ – 2013 – Price on Request

It’s time
I think
I feel
to stop hating on my father
to forgive
the ways
he could not love me

It’s time
I think
I feel
to put this burden down
to accept
his limitations
renounce
any judgment
I have against myself
for the way
he treated me

It’s time
I think
I feel
to take back my power
my self esteem
to be whole
and not in need
